What is nanocement (low water demand cement)?

Modern construction in developed countries prioritizes producing high-quality, high-tech concretes (High Performance Concrete) with superior engineering and operational properties: strength, water resistance, frost resistance, reliable protective properties for steel reinforcement, and durability.
Such concretes, made from highly mobile and castable mixtures with limited water content, achieve:
  • Compressive strength: 30–50 MPa within days, 60–150 MPa at 28 days
  • Water resistance: W12 and higher
  • Water absorption: <1–2% by mass
  • Frost resistance: F600 and higher
  • Service life: Over 200 years
Nanocement
is Portland cement whose particles are coated with a nanoshell of a special polymer substance during the grinding process of clinker or Portland cement.
The product has successfully passed tests
Tests of nanocements conducted in the construction laboratory of LLC "Stroydetal" and at the main production facility demonstrated high construction and technical properties of all obtained classes of nanocements and concretes based on them, throughout all curing periods. Industrial trials (OPI) on products made from nanocement showed that the declared parameters for concrete mixtures during product manufacturing have a high safety margin in strength development.
Including in the UAE
In January 2016, under an agreement between JSC "Moscow IMET" and the company BINANI, production tests of nanocement were conducted on one of the three technological lines at the cement plant in Dubai, UAE.
According to a preliminary Memorandum signed between the parties, the production of nanocement was intended to be implemented on an existing technological line with a ball mill 4.2 x 11 m without any modifications to the line. The new technology was ensured by simply feeding the modifier into the ball mill. The plant proposed producing approximately 600 tons of NC55 nanocement and a small volume of NC35 nanocement on the line.
Main things
What you need to know first:
  • All performance indicators of nanocement significantly surpass analogs
From strength development time to direct savings per 1 cubic meter

Have you decided to organize nanocement production?

Well then. Let's go through the key advantages of this business.
4 Compelling Reasons to Produce Nanocement
for existing plants
  • Reduction in the use of expensive raw materials (clinker) - up to 70%

  • Reduction in electricity and gas consumption by 40%

  • Increase in the production capacity of existing grinding lines by 20%

  • Low capital costs for technological line modernization

4 Even More Compelling Reasons
to start production from scratch
  • Fast payback period of 1.5-2 years, due to low capital costs for setting up production, as it does not require high capital investments for raw material extraction and kiln firing, unlike traditional cement plants

  • Payback achievable at low production capacity, starting from 100 thousand tons per year, unlike traditional cement plants where payback is achieved at capacities from 1 million tons per year

Reduced production costs, due to decreased expenses for producing expensive raw material (clinker) and its substitution by up to 70% with cheap substitutes (sand, slag), as well as through automation of the technological line

  • Production costs are reduced due to decreased expenses for producing expensive raw material (clinker) and its substitution by up to 70% with low-cost substitutes (sand, slag), as well as through automation of the technological line.

  • High demand for nanocements - based on industrial trials conducted in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad, increased interest in the product has been identified, as it surpasses traditional Portland cement in quality indicators and has an attractive production cost
